USPVA Initiatives

A non-profit organization founded in 2017, USPVA has been able to make a positive impact in the pole vault community thanks to the generous support of our members, partners, and donors. We actively invest in four key areas:

Impact on the PV Community

A non-profit organization founded in 2017, USPVA has been able to make a positive impact in the pole vault community thanks to the generous support of our members, partners, and donors. USPVA has achieved the following accomplishments within each of our four initiatives.

1.) Advocacy & Outreach

This initiative focuses on raising awareness of existing resources and opportunities available to train and compete in the U.S.

USPVA has connected coaches and athletes to nearby clubs, camps, and competitions in the U.S. with the creation of our interactive web features Find a Club, Find a Camp, and Meet Calendar

2.) Sport Growth & Elite Support

This initiative focuses on improving the overall competition experience, financial opportunities, and structure of the sport.

USPVA proudly sponsored two inaugural street vault competitions, organized 50 competitions for the Summer Series, is represented by 18 USPVA Ambassadors, and continues to raise the bar at the elite level

3.) Education

This initiative focuses on educating the pole vault community and general public on sport-specific knowledge, records, performances, safety, standards, and other news in the sport.

In 2018, USPVA invested an abundance of resources into pole vault education, research, and recognized 100 Top-10 Performances for the 2017-18 season.

4.) Club & High School Development

This initiative focuses on supporting U.S. schools and pole vault facilities that lack the resources to pursue pole vault programs.

USPVA supports 166 pole vault clubs, schools and facilities. Our future projects include offering liability coverage to coaches and clubs, reinstating the sport back in the state of Iowa, removing the high school weight rule, mentor program, and equipment share.
